Measuring crane distances, collision control
Task
To prevent cranes from colliding, the distances between them must be measured.
Solution
Laser distance sensors are attached on the guide rails on the top side of the crane. These sensors measure the distance to the next crane in both running directions. If the defined minimum distance is undershot, the operator gets an alarm message. When a second boundary distance is reached, the crane motor is stopped.
