Variant detection by surface differentiation
Task
Foils and ornaments are to be differentiated. The foils are smooth and made of PVC, the ornaments are structured and have a fabric. Both exist in three different colors each.
Solution
Due to the space conditions in the system, which are determined by the design, a detached system must be used. A color sensor with four outputs that can be encoded in binary code and a glass fiber-optic cable with focus optics check the products and reliably detect all variants. Thanks to the focus optics, a small frame is sufficient for differentiating the surface color at a distance of 200 mm.
