Detecting the position of transparent plastic sleeves
Task
Milky transparent plastic sleeves are conveyed on a white belt, where they are separated. Further processing of a little tube requires that its position (front or back facing forward) be determined.
Solution
Due to the high part speed of 60 pieces per minute, the little plastic tubes are checked as they flow through. A fork light barrier with IO-Link that can be adjusted exactly for detecting little transparent tubes triggers our Vision sensor. The blue lighting achieves the greatest possible contrast between the little transparent tubes and the white belt they are on, so the position can be queried within a few milliseconds using a “Search shape” command.
