The new LED angled light barriers with IO-Link from di-soric and side lengths from 50 to 120 mm are the fastest, most precise light barriers of their kind today. The design is open on both sides, allowing flexible installation even in the smallest space. The angled light barriers can be configured for specific tasks quickly and operated easily using a dual operating concept, providing the option of using pre-set sensor modes or IO-Link. Their application areas include installation, handling and packaging technology as well as wide parts in product feeding.
For presence detection, stack height checking, accumulation monitoring or other detection tasks: The switching frequency of up to 8000 Hz and reproducibility down to 0.02 mm make the new angled light barriers from di-soric the sensors with the best performance in their segment. The versatile angled light barriers detect objects almost independently of position and direction of movement and do so with such precision that they achieve a quality level on par with laser light barriers.
The new angled light barriers are equipped through PIN 4 with a switching output that can act as a binary or conventional output or be used as an IO-Link interface. They are more durable and less sensitive to dirt than their predecessor series, making them ideal for various tasks in automation and handling technology. Start-up and operation are incredibly simple, either by adjusting the switching point or NO/NC switching via potentiometer or IO-Link. There are 4 sensor modes pre-set for fast use: Standard, High Resolution, Power, Speed. In the "High Resolution" sensor mode, the angled light barriers detect the smallest deviations down to 0.2 mm.
In cases where smart parameterization concepts, recipe management and transparent diagnostic solutions are needed, IO-Link provides a wealth of convenient, advantageous options. The fast changeover to modified production flows and sizes occurs without a hitch. Instead of stocking shelves with different angled light barriers for various applications as before, application-specific configurations are saved and simply loaded into the angled light barriers as needed. Device replacement follows a similar, straightforward process.
